Giving everything
“Do you know the feeling of giving everything to this world, pouring out all your energy, and then suddenly realizing: ‘Hey, I’m the one being lived.’”
The story
Giving everything
When asked if everything was alright, Vanessa told me that I was the first to see her in a less than cheerful state. But honestly, in hindsight, during the brief period we had contact, I never knew her to be any different.
It felt somewhat strange that Vanessa initiated our first conversation with a compliment: ‘May I be so impolite as to say that you seem like a nice person.’ In a way, that was her opening line. She then expressed a desire to have an extremely enjoyable chat with me. We were only at the beginning of the evening, and every new sentence she spoke became progressively more unusual and stranger.
Vanessa had a grandiose and exaggerated way of speaking, never shying away from drama. It was impossible to figure out if she actually had a problem or not. I started wondering if she enjoyed getting attention by emphasizing how bad her problems were without really giving an insight into them. In the middle of our conversation, she suddenly expressed her desire to be alone by herself to be able to cry some tears.
She left me in a state of confusion, and that was probably her intention, hoping that the mystery would pull me in closer.
